At Team'24, Atlassian introduced Rovo.

According to Atlassian, Rovo is "the latest evolution in human-AI collaboration, powered by Atlassian Intelligence. But what does that mean in practice?

We had the opportunity to join the Rovo early access program and not only experience Rovo first hand, but extend develop skills and agent extensions for it. In short, we developed an agent that puts any product announcements and details at peoples fingertips, no matter where they are.

Agent demo

Before we get into the details of everything Rovo can do, here is a quick demo of our Rovo agent. It can access released notes created with Released, summarize them and even allows you to dive deeper into specific features, all the way down to the issues or even the underlying code.

Meet, Atlassian Rovo

Rovo is powered by Atlassian Intelligence, and aims to help you turn information into action. It's core capabilities are finding, learning, and acting on information across all tools in your company:

Find

Rovo Search delivers the most relevant results from all of your preferred SaaS apps, right where you work. Even your third-party apps and, ultimately, home-grown systems, to get contextual and relevant results within your Atlassian experience.

Permissions are strictly followed, so employees only see the information they are authorized to see, while private data remains restricted.

Learn

Knowledge cards offer in-context glimpses of information on projects, goals, teammates, and other topics based on your organization's data. And knowledge cards become smarter as more data is added to the Atlassian teamwork graph.

Wondering about a project "Longhorn"? Simply ask Rovo and it will tell you who's working on it, and where you can find relevant information.

Act

Add specialized agents to workflows to assist with time-consuming chores, project completion, and complex problem solving.

For example:

  • Craft content for marketing and PR communications

  • Taking action when a Jira issue progresses

  • Recommend best practices

  • Onboard new employees

  • Cleaning up Jira backlogs

  • Organizing Confluence pages

Agents are trained to understand a company's information and respond to additional orders while keeping their human coworkers informed.

You can create your own agents using prompts as simple or sophisticated as needed. Or go one level further and develop more powerful agents that are able to retrieve information or perform tasks and actions inside and outside of Atlassian products.

Atlassian is just getting started with Rovo. Join the waitlist today for a chance to help shape this exciting project!
