Behind the scenes

We will be announcing updates to Released every Friday 📅 ... and why you should too.

Despite their ability to publish the entire season of a TV show all at once, most streaming services choose to release one episode a week. And although there are commercial reasons for doing so, it has another benefit. Viewers have something to look forward to and plan around it. Who hasn't been looking forward to the latest episode of Ted Lasso or Succession in the past few months?

The same is true for software releases. In a time where improvements are deployed multiple times a day, notifying users of every change when it happens creates too much noise. Sending an update every quarter won't allow you to pack in all the great, small improvements people might care about, so what's a good frequency?

For Released, we've selected weekly releases as the preferred frequency. But whether it's one week, two weeks of four weeks... it really depends on you and your team what frequency is best. Just don't wait 6 or 12 months to let your users know what you've been working on.
